For how long have been in photography? How did you start?
since ’95, I studied when young, in school in fact, and learnt from being on set with the great masters of the fashion industry from 1983 on..

How would you define yourself as an artist? conceptual and free.

Where do you find inspiration?
I would say as an artist I am progressive, but wrapped in classics…I fond inspiration in film, in other people’s work, the classics and abstract arts, from items which pass my attentive eyes so travels, which I am doing constantly.

Is Brainstorming not the only creative method use to create new concepts? Yes Brainstorming allows for that, but also a wide open mindset, conversations with other creatives, and a background overflowing with arts and music.

Please could you tell us about photography and digital technology? I find digital very easy as I spent many years in film, but I also have come to find digital as too easy and so attempt to create the same accidents as existed in film years ago. I purposefully go about things in a different manner to that which is suggested and seek to make happy accidents.

What type of camera do you use most? Canon(new and old) but with mixed lenses, also an old polaroid Land Camera with converted lens.

What is your favorite lens? Currently a Mamiya 28mm screw mount lens on my Canon, but I also am attempting to use older lenses more often these days.

What has been your most memorable assignment and why? W magazine, Playboy Magazine and the ideas I have created myself.

What are your favourite three images you have shot recently?
Lingerie imagery for OuiHours an online store, fashion editorial I shot which is unpublished and the continued creations I make in my own studio.

How important is an awesome website for your business? Nowadays not so much. I am less inclined to chase the commercial aspects for which the ‘awesome’ websites seem to be so necessary. non the less it is your portfolio, and for that reason it should be awesome!

What’s the most important quality a photographer needs to have? The ability to direct, or the silence to just do….

Which of your projects has given you the most satisfaction? My “Painted Nudes” and the white series.

List of your clients? N/A

Who are the photographer’s you admire the most?
Avedon/Penn/ Strand/Sieff…etc

What about architects and designers?…I see what I like, but perhaps can’t mention names as this is not my field.

What are your next projects? I have begun the process of a series of images loosely based on ‘the voyeur’ and incorporating multi media and 50’s style pin ups..will likely be shot on film.
