My field somewhere between commercial and art photography. Rather, I try to be active in the both these areas. Way of creativity in these fields differs one from another. I try to take into account the specifics of both.

Where do you find inspiration?
Part of my art projects started thru rethinking some commercial shootings, their development in an unexpected direction. In general, the inspiration has a very different routes, most importantly – always be the most receptive to different impressions of life, nature, art

Sure, not only )) It’s only one from the numerous methods. I love to improvise, based on the specific conditions of various projects, on the creative possibilities of the participants. It all depends on the specific situation

Please could you tell us about photography and digital technology?

I started with film photography, using large format antic camera 7 x 10 inch, that’s why for me digital technology is just more effective way to get image, which could be done by analog tech. Now I use only digital camera and printing , and I totally satisfied. But if spesific opportunities of film photography will be more effective for some my new project sometime – I keep all my old cameras

What type of camera do you use most?
Canon Ds1 mark III

What is your favorite lens? I have no favorite lens. ) Any, which let me capture right mood or line

What has been your most memorable assignment and why? One of the most memorable – photo shooting, when I and my colleague were shooting one of the images of the project “Private Moon”. In winter, in the heavy snow storm, when only lighting was the light-box, the hero of the story itself … I did not see absolutely nothing, because the deep dark forest, furious snow, blinding me and the camera, and only barely visible strip of the sky with low clouds over the swaying trees. I was using transparency film and the exposure of about 7 seconds… But as a result, the image – almost idyllic intimate friendship of man and the moon in a elegiac quiet forest

What are your favourite three images you have shot recently?

How important is an awesome website for your business? Do you mean, my website? I think website is pretty important support for my business, for last 5 years I restyle it twice, but it’s only one of various ways for selfpromo.

What’s the most important quality a photographer needs to have? Very important the ability to wonder and admire. Then photographer will be able to surprise and enthrall

Which of your projects has given you the most satisfaction? Joint project “Private Moon” which I made in collaboration with artist Leonid Tishkov

List of your clients? Coca-Cola, Nestle, Burger King, TELE2, Raiffeisen Bank, Gazprombank, Hyatt and others
magazines : Wallpaper, I.D. , AD, Maxim and others

Who are the photographer’s you admire the most? Oh, it’s so difficult… )) In the beginning, it was Edward Weston, Robert Mapplethorp,  Irving Penn, after – Sarah Moon, Paolo Roversi, Albert Watson, then Pier & Gilles, and many many others

What about architects and designers? With regard to architecture, I would better to say about style. For me the art-deco is most impressive. Designers – David Carson in graphics , in fashion – Jean Paul Gaultier, John Galliano

What are your next projects? I’m not planning something concrete, just trying to be open for new inspiring impressions.
