Design Miami is the global forum for design. Each fair brings together the most influential collectors, gallerists, designers, curators and critics from around the world in celebration of design culture and commerce. Occurring alongside the Art Basel fairs in Miami, USA each December and Basel, Switzerland each June, Design Miami/ has become the premier venue for collecting, exhibiting, discussing and creating collectible design.

Design Miami is more than a marketplace for design, where the world’s top galleries gather to present museum-quality exhibitions of twentieth and twenty-first century furniture, lighting and objets d’art. Each show balances exclusive commercial opportunities with progressive cultural programming, creating exciting collaborations with designers and design institutions, panels and lectures with luminaries from the worlds of design, architecture, art and fashion, and unique commissions from the world’s top emerging and established designers and architects.

By continuously expanding and enriching its program, Design Miami seeks to not only satisfy the demand for a high-end design fair, but also to broaden awareness of modern and contemporary design, fuel the market for collectible design, and provide an exciting yet accessible destination for collectors and enthusiasts alike.

At the core of the Design Miami forum is a marketplace for collectible design, amid which the most reputable international design galleries present curated exhibitions of museum-quality furniture, lighting and objets d’art, attracting the highest level of private and public collectors of historical and contemporary design. The galleries invited to exhibit in Design Miami deal mainly in exceptional design objects from the advent of Modernism (circa 1900) to the present day, with select galleries specializing in outstanding 18th and 19th century antiques.

The Design Visionary Award presented by Panerai celebrates individuals who have significantly contributed to the field of design, such as collectors, curators, architects and luminaries who influence and are engaged in design in the broadest sense. The laureate of the award is recognized as having a continued, tangible and lasting impact.

Design Miami’s Design Talks program presents the design world’s most compelling current topics, bringing together the creatives, collectors and critics actively influencing design discourse and production.

Design Curio is Design Miami’s newest exhibition platform which invites designers, curators, innovators and gallerists to present cabinets of curiosity throughout the fair. Each Curio reveals a total environment of objects, textures, artifacts and ideas that challenge and contextualize familiar design narratives.

The program spans the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, and emphasizes surprising installations of scientific and technological research alongside handcraft and creative production. The Curios are interspersed amongst Design Miami’s core galleries, infusing the fair’s exhibition program with inventive snapshots of today’s design landscape.
The Design Miami Market brings a new kind of product to the fair, with a curated selection of design-driven retail that features unique brands and independent retailers offering custom and limited-edition objects, ornaments, accessories and edibles.

Each year Design Miami commissions an emerging talent to design the Market.
