MUNCH and VAN GOGH Munch meet in Amsterdam
25 September 2015 to 17 January 2016.
Amsterdam’s Van Gogh Museum brings together two of the trailblazers of modern art for a unique exhibition.
The two highly influential artists Edvard Munch (1863-1944) and Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) are renowned for their emotionally-charged paintings and drawings, their personal and innovative style and their lives full of hardship. Both strived to modernise art by portraying existential and universal themes in expressive visual language. Despite the many striking parallels in their work and artistic ambitions, they have never before been brought together in one exhibition.
