How did you start? Picking up a Polaroid camera when i was 7 in the sand dunes of blackpool photographing with my brothers & sisters & loving the instant polaroids, which i am looking at now on my desk

How would you define yourself as an artist? A photographer who enjoys art , literature & music

Where do you find inspiration? Life, love, people, books, art & music & photography

Who has been the greatest inspiration in your life today? My dad probably, despite our tensions , he bought me my first film camera as a teenager after which we fell out , but that bedsit i moved into became my first dads toughness and “there is no such thing as i cant ” attitude i think perhaps inspired me to become something more than i felt i was capable of, to find ‘myself’ and not be a version of anyones elses idea of what my life should be. Carve my own path.

What for you is the most enjoyable part of your photography? being able to make choices, being in control & conversely being surprised. The Romance of the relationship between photography and I, it is kind to me , it is private, and sacred to me, there are things i do not& will never tell anybody only my camera.

Is Brainstorming not the only creative method use to create new concepts? i did a design and innovation degree where we learnt all about brainstorming and how valuable it can be, maybe i have absorbed some of those skills i learnt , but there are so many ways to ‘get creative’, best rule..Get bored. boredom is the fountain of inspiration , in my opinion.

What type of camera do you use most? My cannons a 5D AND A 50D

What are your next projects? i dont know

What has been your most memorable assignment and why? Not an assignment – photographing a couple of kids in Marrakech, their beauty shone through, despite having very little , money does not buy you happiness , it buys choice & opportunity, they had limited choice, little opportunity but shed loads of joy- makes you identify wht you ;really’ need to be fulfilled and the responsibuility for reaching happiness has to come from ourselves not from an outside source, then you have resilience, once you have that, everything is a bonus.

What are your favourite three images you have shot recently? The kids in marrekech
